Advantages of aerial surveying with drones
ADVANTAGES OVER CLASSIC TOPOGRAPHY
Greater speed, precision and safety on any terrain, even in inaccessible areas
Minimize fieldwork
Speed in fieldwork = Cost reduction
For large areas, using drones saves a significant amount of time. Thanks to georeferenced orthophotos, the coordinates of millions of points can be obtained. Recording these points one by one on the ground with GNSS sensors would take much longer and would never yield the same quantity of data as with a drone. (A drone can obtain hundreds of georeferenced points per square meter.)
And by reducing fieldwork time, the cost of the topographic survey is much lower.
Surveying inaccessible areas
Rugged terrain
There are areas of the earth that, due to their orographic characteristics, are very difficult to access by land, such as narrow ravines, overgrown terrain, flooded areas, etc. In these places, the safest and fastest way is to carry out the survey with drones from the air.
Add value
Presenting the work on a georeferenced orthophoto has the added value that the client “sees” their property in a photo, whereas with classic plans they only see lines and points on a piece of paper.
In areas full of vegetation, it is almost impossible to access by land to take coordinates with a GPS.
